歌曲創作背景
2000年的一個晚上，酷玩樂隊錄制完專輯《Parachutes》中的歌曲《Shiver》後，一起出門休息。當時天上的星星在漆黑夜空中顯得特別耀眼。坐在一旁胡亂彈著吉他的主唱克里斯·馬汀抬起頭凝望著夜空，即興哼出了《Yellow》的旋律，靈感迅速地沖進了馬汀的大腦里。
馬汀在構思歌名的時候遇到了瓶頸，他想用一個特定的詞來貼合這首歌。他無意間看見當時錄音室里的斯蒂芬妮（馬汀碰巧在錄音室的朋友）的黃色皮膚，斯蒂芬妮皮膚洋溢的黃色光芒讓馬汀立即將這首歌被命名為《Yellow》。
