（1）產地與分布

我國飼養的羅姆尼羊，分別引自英國、紐西蘭和澳大利亞，其生產性能如下：
①英國羅姆尼羊：成年羊體重公羊為80千克，母羊41千克，剪毛量成年公羊7千克，母羊3.5千克，毛長成年公羊13厘米，母羊11.5厘米，毛細50～60支，凈毛率45.5%～53%，產羔率104.6%。
②紐西蘭羅姆尼羊：成年羊體重公羊為77.5千克，母羊43千克，剪毛量成年公羊7.5千克，母羊4千克。毛長成年公羊15厘米，母羊12.5厘米，毛細44～46支，凈毛率58%～60%，產羔率106%。
③澳大利亞羅姆尼羊：成年羊體重公羊為87千克，母羊43千克，剪毛量成年公羊7.23千克，母羊3.5千克。毛長成年公羊15.5厘米，母羊13厘米。凈毛率60%，產羔率105.5%。
（4）利用情況
我國1966—1987年間，先後由英國、紐西蘭和澳大利亞引入三種不同系的羅姆尼羊，分別飼養在內蒙古、山西、河北、山東、安徽、江蘇、貴州、雲南、四川、西藏、甘肅、陝西、青海及湖北等省區。不大適應山區放牧條件。
